Jubilee leaders led by Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen,Starehe MP Charles Njagua,Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa and Nakuru county senator Susan Kihika have attacked Jubilee Party’s vice chairman David Murathe following his remarks that Deputy President William Ruto should retire with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
David Murathe has so far received criticism following his recent utterances. On Saturday January 5,2019 Murathe said that he was ready to go to supreme court to stop William Ruto from vying for presidency come 2022.
He arh=argued that the deputy president has served for two terms and according to the constitution he cannot be allowed to vie for presidency’
Before that,Murathe had said that there was no any memorandum of understanding between president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for him(Uhuru Kenyatta) to support Ruto in 2022.
Ruto in response said that he did not need any endorsement to become Kenya’s 5th president. He added that presidency is not something to be endorsed and that someone had to work out his own way to presidency.
Ruto wondered how some people with their own political parties are waiting to be endorsed by Jubilee party to run for presidency.
Some time back in 2018,the deputy presidency had criticised Raila odinga of planning his ouster in Jubilee. Ruto added that there was no way Raila could lead to his ouster in Jubilee the way he did in ODM.
